All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organisations calls on the heads of world religious confessions for assistance in hostages release (video)
The SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak held a meeting with the representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organisations on the issues of the assistance in hostages’ release.
The event took place at the SBU National Academy. “It is necessary to us to unite Ukrainian society for the sake of the future of our country,” said Vasyl Hrytsak to the representatives of all confessions.
The SBU Head called on the representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches to appeal to the Heads of all world confessions for assistance in hostage release process. “We should use every opportunity to attract attention to this problem in order to find ways forward. In order that the common sense wins and our captives return home”, – he emphasised.
The representatives of the Council of Churches in front of captives` mothers and wives unanimously supported the motion. In the nearest future, the joint appeal will reach the clerical leaders and international organizations dealing with hostages release.
So-called DNR/LNR hold hostage 152 Ukrainian citizens, another 404 are considered as missing in action, SBU says. Dozens of our compatriots are illegally kept in the territory of Russian Federation. The representatives of the Council of Churches promised to unite efforts of all confessions for hostages release.
