All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations seconds motions of the SBU Head concerning assistance in hostages release
During the meeting of All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, all participants supported the motion of the SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak and applied to the heads of all-world confessions with a request to assist in the process of hostages’ release.
The decision was taken unanimously and all leaders of the Ukrainian Churches signed personal appeals to the world hierarchs, asking them to help to influence on the process of the quickest hostages’ release.
Vasyl Hrytsak made a speech with the initiative to prepare this appeal on the meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, which was held in the middle of October in the National Academy of the SBU. "We should use every opportunity to attract attention to this problem in order to find ways forward. In order that the common sense wins and our captives return home”, –emphasized. the SBU Head.
According to the SBU data, 3140 people were released and 3140 were found. There are 155 Ukrainian citizens who are hostages of the so-called DNR / LNR, and other 403 citizens are considered to be missed in action. 10 our compatriots are illegally held hostage in Russia.
