SBU warns of regular provocations against Ukrainian citizens by Russia’s security services
Russian security services committed yet another anti-Ukrainian provocation, illegally detaining Ukrainian citizen, participant of Ukraine’s ATO military operation Oleh Nehoda in Moscow, where he was visiting his relatives.
The SBU reiterates that the FSB is hunting for our compatriots in Russia and that trips to the aggressor country are extremely dangerous.
In August 2017, the SBU officers uncovered a high-profile case - the cynical provocation of the Russian security services aimed at simulating the preparation of terrorist acts on the critical infrastructure objects in Moscow, Kurchatov, Kursk and Toliatti involving three Ukrainian citizens, participants of ATO military operation. In this respect, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak appealed to Ukrainians, especially those who participated in antiterrorist operation, to refrain from traveling to Russia and the temporarily occupied territories.
“The SBU warnings about the danger of our citizens staying on the territory of the Russian Federation are confirmed by numerous documented facts of Russian provocations within the tactics of the hybrid war. The Russian security services are trying to involve Ukrainian citizens into illegal activities, setting up compromising situations, and using family ties to lure our compatriots, especially participants of the ATO military operation, on their territory in order to organize such provocations,” said Vasyl Hrytsak.
