SBU detains radical on international ‘wanted’ list
In Odesa region, SBU officers based on Interpol and Europol information detained a citizen of Uzbekistan who was internationally wanted for committing extremely serious crimes.
According to law enforcers, a foreigner actively participated in the work of jihadist movement. He was a member of Jamaat group and was responsible for recruitment of new extremists and for spreading the ideology of radical Islam.
According to SBU information, the criminal planned to conduct similar activity in Ukraine – recruit fighters and propagate extremist ideology.
The issue of subjecting the detainee to provisional arrest and further extradition to the Uzbekistani state security bodies is currently being considered.
