SBU materials help to lock up arms dealers
SBU materials helped in serving a notice of suspicion to the members of a criminal group detained on illegal arms trading in Khmelnytskyi region.
The law enforcers established that three residents of Kamyanets-Podilskyi were selling small firearms and were engaged in changing processing traumatic and sport pistols into firearms, for further resale. The SBU operatives have documented several facts of the illegal sale of weapons.
The SBU Officers in cooperation with the Police detained one of the offenders on attempting to sell the Kalashnikov gun and 100 rounds. Two other members of the criminal group also were detained.
During the searches in the detainees' residences law enforcers seized 5 Kalashnikov guns, 4 rifles, 8 pistols of different modifications, grenades, TNT blocks, plastide explosive, 5 firearms disguised as pens and over 1,000 rounds of different calibre ammo.
The investigative actions on bringing other participants of the criminal group to the criminal responsibility and establishing the origin of weapons in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are under way.
