Kherson: SBU exposes amphetamine production lab
The SBU officers uncovered a Kherson drug lab specialising on production of especially dangerous psychotropic substance - amphetamine.
The law enforcers established that the illegal production of psychotropic substances was organized by two residents of the regional centre in the apartments rented by one of the offenders. The dealers sold “goods” in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and attempted to create their own network of drug dealers. According to the case data, the monthly “profit” from the sale of psychotropic substances amounted to about UAH 100,000 (USD 3,802).
The SBU operatives detained both offenders in one of the Kherson streets on attempting to sell 30 gram of amphetamine.
During searches of the offenders’ residences and the drug lab, the law enforcers uncovered a large consignment of amphetamine, precursors as well as production equipment.
Both detainees were served a notice in committing the crime; the issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. The investigative actions on bringing to the criminal responsibility other offenders involved in the unlawful actions in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 2, Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are under way.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
