Kharkiv: SBU prevents terrorist act near monument to UPA soldiers (video)
SBU CI Officers under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office prevented a terrorist act near the monument to the UPA soldiers, masterminded by the secret services of the aggressor country in Kharkiv.
The SBU operatives documented that Russian supervisors planned to use members of the so-called military-political group “Kharkiv Resistance Movement” for conducting a series of terrorist acts in the region.
The members of the group formed in 2014 specialized in blowing up the national monuments, offices of the Ukrainian patriotic organizations and personal vehicles of the members, conducting the intelligence activities and distributing the anti-Ukrainian, separatist and extremist content among the Kharkiv residents.
The SBU CI officers established that in April 2018 Russian special services restarted the financing for terrorist activities of the KRM subversive group in Kharkiv. One of the participants of the group received the task to blow up the monument to the UPA soldiers using a homemade explosive device received from the Russian supervisors.
The SBU officers detained the offender under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on installing the explosive device under the memorable sign. During the authorized investigative actions in the residence of the member of the criminal group, the law enforcers seized the symbols of the terrorist organizations "D / LNR".
The detainee was served a notice of suspicion in committing the crime stipulated by Part 2 Article 15, Part 1 Article. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigative and operative actions on identifying other persons involved in organizing and committing the crime are under way.
