SBU team takes third place in programming in First National Security and Defense Tournament
The Cybersecurity Situation Center team of the Counter-Intelligence Protection Department of the State's interests in the sphere of SBU information safety took part in the First National Hackathon on Security and Defense issues. The format of Hackathon provides the competition of software development specialists.
The Tournament, organized by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the participation and support of NATO and the Government Office of the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Coordination of Ukraine was conducted in accordance with the standards of the TIDE Hackathon.
Fifteen teams participated in the programming competition, including representatives of the National Guard, National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, the Naval Forces Command, the State Emergency Service and specialists from the higher education institutions in the security and defense sector.
The Hackathon goal is to develop the latest architectural decisions and software for the tasks’ realization of defense and security sphere, as well as the improvement of the interdepartmental interaction.
On the results of the competitions, the SBU team won the third place in the “programming” discipline, having developed a software decision for secure information transmission, examination the integrity and authorship of the received files through the electronic signature.
This IT decision, presented as a specially developed platform module “MISP-UA”, is currently used by the SBU for sharing information about the cyberattack indicators between the public authorities and critical infrastructure facilities.
