Kyiv: SBU seizes arsenal of weapons and ammo
Officers of the SBU Main Department for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime in the framework of counteraction the illegal weapons trafficking, identified a cache of munitions in Kyiv.
The law enforcers seized four RPG-26 grenade launchers, two kilos of plastisol, three primer charges to PG-7 shots and almost 200 rounds of 5.45 mm calibre ammo to Kalashnikov from the hideout located on the open territory of one of the non-working enterprises of the capital.
According to operational information, the resident of Kyiv brought the weapons and ammunition after his staying in the area of anti-terrorist operation, hoping to use it in criminal activity.
The criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 1 Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The urgent investigative and operative actions on bringing persons involved in the illegal activities to criminal responsibility are under way.
The detection operation of the arsenal was conducted jointly with the Podil Regional National Police Department in Kyiv.
