SBU National Academy’s Daria Bilodid become youngest Judo World Champion
Ukrainian sportsman Daria Bilodid won the first Ukrainian women gold award in the Judo World Championship in Baku and became the youngest Judo World Champion.
In the semifinals of the competition, a seventeen-year-old girl won the 2016 Olympic champion Paulo Pareto from Argentina, and in the final won the real champion from Japan Fuun Tonaki by the ippo in the weight category to forty-eight kilograms.
Recall that in 2017, Daria Bilodid won the gold medal at the European Championship, which took place in Warsaw. During 2018, the athlete took the highest steps on the Grand Slam (Paris and Dusseldorf) and Grand Prix (Tunisia), as well as the European Cup (Podcheretek) tournament podium.
This year at the XII All-Ukrainian awarding ceremony of the "Heroes of Sporting Year" she received the title "Olympic hope of Ukraine".
