Zaporizhzhya: SBU blocks attempt to export military-purpose goods
In Zaporizzhia, security officers of Ukraine prevented the illegal export of military-purpose goods that are subject to mandatory export control.
Special service operatives found that a Zaporizzhia resident tried to ship to East Asia components to aviation engines used in military and civil aviation. To do this, he used one of the international courier delivery services.
The SBU employees seized the parcel after the criminal transferred it to the postal service. In the course of further authorized investigations at his place of residence, SBU operatives documented that the “trader” has no permission of Ukraine’s State Export Control Service for international transfers of this group of goods.
Within the framework criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Art. 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving a notice of suspicion is being decided.
The urgent investigative and operative actions on establishing the origin of the seized military-purpose goods and identification of other persons involved in the illegal activity are under way.
