Ivano-Frankivsk region: SBU prevents state losses during public procurement for needs of rural medicine
SBU officers in the framework of a complex of measures on protection the critical infrastructure in healthcare sector prevented inefficient use of public funds during the implementation of the state program to improve health services in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.
The SBU operatives established that a unit of the Regional State Administration announced an over UAH 40,000,000 (USD 1,423,490) tender for services for construction of ambulance stations in villages of Ivano-Frankivsk region. While inspecting the documents of preferred bidder, the law enforcers found a number of violations and cases of non-compliance with terms of the tender documents.
SBU officers documented that the contractor provided insufficient data on its experience and resources available for the project. Also, it did not meet the qualification criteria, which could have lead to ineffective use of budget funds.
The SBU informed the State Audit Service of Ukraine about the revealed violations.
Based on the findings of the State Audit Service inspection, the Tender Committee canceled the results of public procurement. The new bidding process is being planned.
