Mariupol: SBU detains corrupt judge of district court
The SBU operatives involved in Joint Forces Operation jointly with the NABU detectives under the SAP procedural guidance exposed a corrupt judge of Mariupol district court and his assistant.
The SBU operatives established that the officials extorted UAH 15,000 (USD 535) from the local resident for “shielding” him from administrative responsibility.
The law enforcers detained the offenders at their office on receiving the final portion of the unlawful benefit. Earlier, the law enforcers documented receiving by officials the first part of the bribe amounting to UAH 10,000 (USD 350).
The issue of serving the judge and his assistant a notice of suspicion in committing a crime is being settled within the framework of criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigative actions aimed at identifying all episodes of illegal activity are under way.
