Kyiv region: SBU exposes one of local Prosecutor's Office Chiefs on corruption
SBU officers jointly with the General Inspectorate of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine unveiled on systematic bribes the deputy director of one of the Prosecutor’s Offices in a city of the Kyiv region.
SBU operatives established that the official set up a mechanism for receiving illegal financial gain from the businessman for “turning a blind eye” to the illicit natural gas trade.
For her “coverup” services, the prosecutor was demanding from the representative of the company a “fixed charge” of USD 3,000, plus a monthly charge of UAH 10,000 (just over USD 350).
Within the framework of the initiated criminal proceeding under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine law enforcers detained the criminal on getting a recurrent bribe sum of UAH 10,000.
The information about involvement in the unlawful activities of the Head of the City Prosecutor’s Office is also being verified.
Investigative actions are under way.
