Kyiv region: SBU exposes official of State Service for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadaster on USD 10,500 bribe
SBU officers uncovered on USD 10,500 bribe a corrupt deputy head of a district unit of State Service for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadaster in Kyiv region.
Special service operatives established that the official demanded USD 10,500 from the private entrepreneur for preparing and approving the assessment of the state land survey documents. For this amount, the offender also promised to finalize the decision on approving the land development project and assigning the cadastral numbers to the land plot earmarked for fishing business.
SBU officers documented the receiving of the first part of the illegal financial gain amounting to USD 5,000.
Law enforcers detained the criminal in the regional center on his receiving the second part of the illegal benefit in the amount of USD 5,500.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the criminal was served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime. The official is removed from office and placed under round-the-clock house arrest.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Police investigators (Petchersk National Police Department in Kyiv) under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office No. 6.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
