SBU Head met with representatives of International Committee of Red Cross in Ukraine
On March 12, Vasyl Hrytsak, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, met with the newly appointed Head of the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine (ICRC), Florence Gillette, and Head of the Mission of the ICRC, who completes his work in Ukraine, Alan Ashliman.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issue of the admission of representatives of the international organization to Ukrainian prisoners of war and other citizens of our state who are illegally detained in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, annexed Crimea and in Russia. Members of the meeting discussed the priority directions for the further development of bilateral cooperation between the ICRC and Ukrainian special service.
Representatives of the SBU noted the active participation of the foreign delegation in the improvement of the situation in Ukraine under the conditions of armed aggression of Russia, as well as the constant work of the mission in the conflict zone.
“I congratulate the new Head of the ICRC Mission on appointment and express my hope for fruitful inter-agency cooperation and constructive dialogue for improving the humanitarian situation in the east of our country,” said Vasyl Hrytsak.
