SBU exposes Russia’s secret services recruiting Ukrainian citizens (video)
Officers of the SBU CI exposed another attempt of Russia’s secret services to use citizens of Ukraine for performing intelligence tasks to the damage of the state security of Ukraine.
SBU operatives established that the officers of the FSB Department in Crimea and Sevastopol City recruited a native of Crimea, who received a cover name “Noch” (“Night”). The supervisors tasked him with collection and transmission to the foreign side of real-time data concerning the location of military equipment of Ukrainian Army in Kherson region; the members of the “Pravyi Sector”, the leaders of the Crimean Tatars’ public association “Asker” and the Noman Chelebigikhan Battalion.
SBU officers documented that our citizen’s recruitment into covert cooperation to the damage of the state security of Ukraine took place while he was on the territory of the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. For this purpose, the officers of Russia’s secret service artificially created a compromising situation. Also, the officers of the FSB of Russia resorted to physical and psychological pressure and threats to person’s relatives, in order to pressure him into false testimony about terrorist acts in the Crimea allegedly prepared by activists of Ukrainian public and political associations.
Currently, the investigative actions are under way within the criminal proceeding initiated under Art. 111 (High Treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
