SBU commemorates fallen captain Victor Mandzyk
The personnel of the Security Service of Ukraine commemorated the SBU Captain Victor Mandzyk who tragically died four years ago while performing his duties in the anti-terrorist operation.
In Kyiv, the SBU Head, Vasyl Hrytsak, together with representatives of the SBU board, commemorated their colleague Viktor Mandzyk with a minute of silence. In Lutsk, the SBU officers laid flowers on the grave of the fallen Hero.
Viktor began his SBU service in 2009. He became the top gun of the SFO unit "A" in Volyn region, as well as a participant of the SBU regional team for hand-to-hand fighting. After a serious trauma, Viktor moved to the field unit.
From January 2015, Victor Mandzyk was on a mission in the ATO area in Donetsk region, where he personally detained an armed terrorist.
Fulfilling his professional and civic duty, the SBU captain died on March 21, 2015 in the Volnovakha city. Victor Mandzyk was awarded the order “For Courage” of III degree (posthumous) by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 25.03.2015.
Mother of the fallen officer Olha Oleksandrivna thanked the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine for the constant support and memory of her heroically died son.
