The memorandum provides for consolidation of efforts to ensure effective prevention of violations of human rights and freedoms in the sphere of the Security Service of Ukraine activities through the establishment of effective democratic civilian control. Also, platforms will be created for interaction at the regional level, within the framework of the pilot project, in particular in Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Lviv regions. Within the framework of the interaction, it is planned to conduct joint activities aimed at raising the level of awareness of SBU officials, members of public councils and representatives of public associations on the issues of ensuring human rights and freedoms in the activities of security bodies, ascertaining and resolving specific issues in this area, as well as on issues of organization and provision of democratic civil control over the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine.
