Kyiv: SBU stops activity of large drug group
The officers of the SBU Department for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime blocked the large drug-dealing group in Kyiv.
The SBU operatives established that the drug dealers organized the production of narcotic and psychotropic substances for further sale. The criminals stored the goods in rented apartments and sold it from other rented premises, as well as through an extensive network of dealers. According to the SBU, the group members sold in the capital amphetamine, MDMA pills and marijuana, getting about UAH 1,000,000 (USD 37,735) per month.
The law enforcers detained the offenders at an apartment in Kyiv and seized over three kilograms of different drugs and psychotropics.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion in committing a crime and choosing a measure of restraint is being settled in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Investigating Department of the Holosiivskyi National Police Office in Kyiv.
