SBU organises event on International Children's Day (video)
The SBU organised a cheerful event on the International Children's Day.
On the first summer day, the SBU invited 260 children of officers together with their parents to the Training Facility of the Special Operations Centre “A”. Traditionally, the families of the killed SBU Heroes and the children of the officers who were injured during the duty, were present on the event.
At the Training Centre an interesting entertainment program with exciting quizzes, relay races and presents were prepared for young guests and their parents.
The children learned a lot of new and interesting facts about the history and activity of the legendary SBU Special Operation Centre "A", tried their skills in competitions and demonstrated team spirit.
Boys especially liked the special equipment. Also, children trained to provide first-aid care.
Many positive impressions were received from the performance of the dog service team. With enthusiasm, the children visited a climbing wall, where the final task of the event was to climb the climbing tower, and the prize draw.
After such intense outdoor activities, the children regained their strength by tasting real field cuisine and received sweets.
“It is difficult to find words to express the impression from this beautiful family holiday. We are grateful to the Service for the support of families who have lost their parents and husbands. We always feel your boundless love, care, protection,” said Iryna Kuzmenko, wife of fallen SBU Colonel, Andrii Kuzmenko.
As the SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak noted: “We started this work in June 2015, in the worst times of confrontation with the Russian aggressor. It was then that we decided that protection of the Homeland should be as equally important task, as carry-about the children of the SBU officers, who are defending the Ukrainian territory. Since then, sport holidays, sightseeing tours, children’s matinee and performances have become traditional. This year we found an opportunity to organize rehabilitation for children of fallen officers in Zakarpattia and in Egypt for out of budget means. We renewed festival "Your Talents, SBU", which has not been held since 2013. Unfortunately, there are still many unfulfilled plans, but I hope that the new management of the Service will continue to develop the established traditions, the main mission of which is responsibility for every child of each of our office.”
Holiday events took place in all regions of Ukraine.
