The SBU team takes second place in the development of software solutions for the security and defense sector of Ukraine

The team of the Situation Center for the provision of cyber security of the Security Service of Ukraine took part in the Second National Defense Hackathon on the security and defense sector of Ukraine.

Competitions were organized by the Strategic Communications Center "StratCom Ukraine" in the interests of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the participation and support of NATO and the Government Office of Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The format of the event was in line with NATO's TIDE Hackathon format, an event organized by NATO to find solutions to the challenges of interoperability and the coherence of all Alliance components.

The competition was attended by representatives of fourteen teams, including representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergencies, the State Border Guard Service and specialists from the educational institutions of the security and defense sector.

The main objective of such competitions is to improve the interaction between the components of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, the development of innovative architectural solutions and software for the implementation of common tasks.

According to the results of the competition, the SBU team took the second place in the "modeling" category, developing an innovative architectural model and data transfer platform using a template and user authorization system based on an electronic digital signature, embodying the principle of "built-in interoperability".

In addition, SBU officials participated in the round tables, during which discussed the priority areas for improving the country's defense capability with the involvement of Ukrainian IT sector expertise and NATO experience in the context of the work of the Trust Fund of the Alliance.
