SBU exposes corrupt head of NGO in Lviv region
Officials of the SBU Office in Lviv region exposed on the extortion of unlawful benefits the head of one of the district NGOs.
Special service operatives found that the offender demanded UAH 30 000 from a local private entrepreneur for not creating artificial obstacles to his business activities. The head of the NGO threatened businessmen with a business reputation through the promulgation of knowingly false information about the non-existent corrupt contacts of an entrepreneur in power structures and the alleged violation of the procedure for obtaining a permit for mining.
Law enforcers detained offender in one of the district centers of the region while receiving the entire amount of unlawful benefit.
In the framework of criminal proceeding initiated under Part 4 Article 368-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine investigations are under way.
The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
