Donetsk region: SBU terminates the activities of illicit drug laboratory
Officials of the Security Service of Ukraine involved in the Joint Forces Operation terminated the activities of an organized group engaged in the manufacture and sale of narcotic substances in Mariupol.
Operatives of the SBU special task force unit found that two local drug dealers at the place of residence of one of them set up an illicit drug laboratory. The finished substance they sold to retail customers in all regions of Ukraine.
Law enforcers detained drug dealers in Mariupol while attempting to carry out a regular consignment of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
During authorized searches for in residences of offenders, as well as during a personal inspection, the operatives seized about three hundred grams of narcotic drug "methadone" and almost half a kilogram of psychotropic substance "amphetamine", equipment for the manufacture of goods, bank cards, mobile phones, and SIM-cards.
According to experts, the estimated cost of seized drugs on the black market comprises UAH 1,5 million.
In the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, involved persons have been serviced notices of suspicion of committing a crime. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being solved.
The pre-trial investigation is under way.
The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Donetsk region.
