SBU representative Darya Bilodid becomes the youngest twice World Champion in judo
18-year-old Ukrainian sports star Darya Bilodid became the World Champion in judo in the weight category below 48 kilos for the second time.
A representative of the National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine kept the title of the best judoist at the 2019 World Cup held in Tokyo, Japan. Our athlete defeated the host of the competition in the final duel. Her contestant was 24-year-old Japanese Funna Tonaki, who earlier topped the world rankings.
In 2018, Darya Bilodid won the title of the World Senior Champion in judo for the first time. In 2019, she has won gold medals at the European Championship and the 2nd European Games.
Three representatives of the SBU Academy also showed good results in international competitions.
Valentina Semerenko won the super-sprint competition at the Summer Biathlon World Championships in Raubichi (Belarus). Vita Semerenko, her sister, won a bronze medal in the pursuit race at the same competitions.
Andriy Protsenko achieved a 228 cm height in high jumps and won silver at the 12th stage of the Diamond League in Paris (France).
