SBU counter-intelligence detains “wanted” militant of “LNR” terrorist organisation
SBU CI Department run a special operation in Luhansk region resulting in taking an active member of the “LNR” terrorist organisation to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities and his further detention.
The militant was put on a “wanted” list under the suspicion of participation in terrorist organisation, along with trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
The detainee, a resident of Luhansk region, actively participated in hostilities against the ATO forces as a member of so-called “LNR” in 2014-2015, in particular, took part in the fierce Debaltsevo battle. Later, he was engaged in duty service at the checkpoints of the IAF “LNR” near the occupied Sorokyno. As of September 2019, the militant was doing the military service in so-called “LNR” border committee”.
The issue of serving the criminal a notice of suspicion in committing the crimes stipulated by Part 2 Article 110 (“Trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”) and Part 1 Article Art. 258-3 (“Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and choosing a custody as a measure of restraint are being decided.
The operation was conducted jointly with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.
