SBU exposes acting and former SBU officers on unlawful wiretapping
Officers of SBU Internal security Department identified acting and former SBU officers on criminal activity (unlawfully wiretapping of the subscribers and selling the collected information).
Law enforcement established that the suspects searched for customers using reliable personal contacts. The ex-officer chose the customers while those serving in SBU provided the technical assistance of getting the information.
Two months wiretapping of a subscriber were priced at USD 9,000. Pre-trial investigation is working out the exact number of the subscribers who suffered from the illegal actions.
The pre-trial investigation is under way.
The investigative-operative actions are ongoing, the decision on serving the suspects a notice of suspicion is being decided.
The operation was conducted jointly with the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations under the supervision of the General Military Prosecutor's Office.
