SBU CI Department uncovers anti-Ukrainian Internet-agitator in Odesa
SBU CI officers uncovered in Odesa anti-Ukrainian agitator, who distributed provocation materials in the Internet.
Operatives and investigators of the special service found that a man continued to support the idea of creation a so-called “Odesa People's Republic" and promoted the federalization of south-eastern regions of Ukraine.
SBU CI officers documented facts of posting on the Internet anti-Ukrainian slogans, to destabilize the socio-political situation in Odesa region. The offender also made public calls for changing the boundaries of Ukraine and instigated interethnic hostility.
A man also periodically travelled to temporarily annexed territory of the AR of Crimea, where, according to special service, he contacted with the persons reasonably suspected of carrying out intelligence activities against Ukraine.
During the sanctioned investigative actions conducted in the agitator’s residence, the law-enforcement officers seized computer equipment and other evidence, proving illegal activity.
The offender was served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Custody for a term of 60 days was chosen by the decision of Prymorskii district court of Odesa city as a measure of restraint for the supposed criminal.
The investigative actions are under way.
