SBU conducts searches in the offices of Russian company “Yandex” subsidiary (updated video)
SBU officials under procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s General Office conducted in Kyiv and Odesa authorized searches in the offices of Russian company “Yandex” subsidiary.
The law-enforcers established that management of the company illegally collected, storage and passed to Russia personal data of Ukrainian citizens. In particular personal data, occupation, way of life, places of visit, residences, phone numbers, e-mails and accounts in social networks. The special service officials documented that information also was passed on the law-enforcement and special bodies’ officials, servicemen of the AF of Ukraine, other units, taking place in the ATO in the east of Ukraine, officials of the state power bodies and management.
According to the SBU, the information was passed to the RF special services for planning, organization and conducting of intelligence, subversive, informational operations in our country against sovereignty of Ukraine, territorial integrity and inviolability.
During searches the SBU officials detected server equipment and documents, which will be directed to the examination that will check the facts of collection, storage and passing to Russian side personal data of the citizens of Ukraine. The experts also will analyze the traffic redirection of Ukrainian users to Russian servers and also will check coordination of illegal activities from the territory of the Russian Federation.
The pretrial investigation in the frameworks of criminal proceeding, initiated under Article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine is under way (high treason).
