SBU officers prevent the smuggling of UAH 1.5 million (USD 57,700) worth of psychotropic substances
SBU officers prevented smuggling of psychotropic substances worth almost UAH 1.5 million (USD 57,700) to Ukraine, together with the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office.
Law enforcers established that drug dealers ordered MDMA psychotropic substances from Europe, for sale in Kyiv and Odessa regions. Operatives detained two couriers at a checkpoint in Lviv region. During the car inspection, officers seized 6,000 psychotropic pills from the stash under the bottom of the car. According to the SBU, drug dealers imported MDMA batches every three months.
SBU established the identities of the two organizers of smuggling. Currently, searches are carried out at their residence locations in Kyiv and Odessa, in the frame of criminal proceeding under the Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings will be launched under Art. 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The urgent investigative and operational actions are under the way.
