Kyiv: SBU uncovers patrol policeman on sale of amphetamine
SBU operatives exposed the officer of the Patrol Police on sale of amphetamine in Kyiv.
The law enforcers established that the police inspector in his free time distributed the psychotropic substances among the capital’s drug users. The SBU officers detained the offender in the Desnyanskyi district (Kyiv) near the shopping centre during the meeting with the subsequent client and seized about 100 grams of amphetamine from his car.
The cost of the seized psychotropic substances is about UAH 40,000 (USD 1,538) on the “black” market.
The offender was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The uncovered substance was sent for examination.
The criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine by the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office. The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the police patrol inspector in committing the crime is being decided.
Operation was conducted by the officers of the SBU Kyiv Regional Office in cooperation with the officers of the Internal Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is under way.
