Kyiv: SBU exposes corrupt Patrol Police officer
SBU officers in Kyiv in the framework of the initiated criminal proceeding uncovered a Patrol Police officer who organized the scheme of regular bribe receiving.
The law enforcers established that the inspector of the Kyiv department extorted money from the citizens for cancelling the administrative protocols for driving car under the influence of alcohol and returning the driving licenses.
This March SBU officers documented the first fact of receiving the illegal benefit - UAH 30,000 (USD 1,153) from a Kyiv resident by the offender.
SBU operatives detained the Police Lieutenant on receiving regular bribe amounting to UAH 30,000 (USD 1,153) not far from his workplace in Solomyanskyi district in Kyiv.
The pre-trial investigation is under way in the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated by the SBU investigators under Part 2 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the inspector in committing the crime is being decided.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office and the Department of Internal Security of the National Police.
