Bukovyna region: SBU detains two corrupt patrol officers
The SBU officers exposed two corrupt inspectors of the patrol police in Bukovyna.
The SBU operatives established that the policemen extorted USD 600 from Chernivtsi resident. For this sum the offenders promised to assist in unhindered transportation within the region of three tons of spirit, without the relevant permits for its acquisition and sale.
The SBU officers detained the inspectors after receiving the next part of unlawful benefit in one of the villages of Storozhynetskyi district. The criminals attempted to escape using the official car, but were detained by law enforcers.
In the framework of criminal proceedings, initiated under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving the detainees a notice of suspicion in committing a crime and choosing them a measure of restraint is being settled.
The investigation actions are under way.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Monitoring and Analytical Support Department of the Patrol Police Office in Chernivtsi region and under the procedural guidance of the Military Prosecutor's Office.
