Kirovohrad region: SBU exposes corrupt official of State Labour
SBU officers uncovered a Chief State Inspector of the State Labour Administration on the systematic bribe-taking in Kirovohrad region.
The official established a mechanism of obtaining illegal financial gain from the local businessmen for shielding them from the alleged violation of labour laws, SBU found. The Chief Inspector set a monthly tribute in the amount of UAH 500 (USD 17.85) from every selling point.
Law enforcers detained the official at his desk after receiving the recurrent bribe amounting to UAH 6,000 (USD 215).
The issue about serving a notice of suspicion of committing a crime to the official and choosing a measure of restraint is now being settled. Investigative actions in the framework of criminal proceeding initiated by Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are ongoing.
The operation was conducted jointly with the police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.
