Odessa: SBU exposed corrupt top manager of state-owned bank
SBU officers exposed on regular bribes a head of the Risk Assets Department and his subordinate of one of the Odessa-based state-owned banks.
Operatives found that the officials extorted money from debtors for the possibility to conduct operations with pledged property.
SBU officers documented the fact of USD 2,000 money extortion from a local resident. For this sum, bank workers promised to facilitate the realisation of impawned top-range car.
Law enforcers detained the offenders at work places, after they received the whole amount of bribe.
Criminals were served a notice of suspicion in committing the crime stipulated by Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigative actions on bringing to responsibility other bank workers involved in the illegal activity are under way.
The measures to expose the offenders were conducted jointly with the Prosecutor’s Office.
