Luhansk region: sentencing another bunch of organizers of 2014 anti-Ukrainian referendum
SBU materials helped the Lysychanka city court of Luhansk region to sentence another group of persons who were involved in organising the 2014 anti-constitutional “referendum on the “LNR” independence”.
SBU officers found that in May 2014 the Secretary of Lysychanka City Council jointly with two local residents took an active part in the work of the so-called initiative group on fake “expression of will”. Giving presentations with the support of pro-Russian separatists, the criminals run rallies and marches under the flag of aggressor-country. After terrorist groups captured the city the Secretary of City Council publicly supported the militants, initiating the recognition of “the Act on LNR independence” during the special session.
On the eve of liberation of Lysychanka from pro-Russian terrorists, three organizers of pseudo-referendum escaped to the temporary occupied territory of Lugansk region.
The court found the criminals guilty in committing the crime stipulated by Part 2 Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Secretary of City Council was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, two other offenders - to six years of imprisonment.
The verdict came into force.
The sentence would start from the day of criminals’ arrest.
