Kyiv: SBU runs authorized searches in security companies group
On February 26, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted authorized searches at the premises of “Stealth Security Service” company group, co-founded by a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow subordination). The operation was done jointly with the State Fiscal Service in Kyiv and the Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, within the framework of the existing criminal proceedings.
Law enforcers have earlier established that due to the illegal activities of the group the state budget failed to receive over UAH 9,000,000 (over USD 333,000) in taxes, which had caused significant losses to the economic potential of our country.
Results of the procedural actions provided law enforcement officers with documentary evidence that the individuals under investigation committed an offense provided for in Part 3, Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (avoidance of payment of taxes in particularly large amounts).
Also, during the searches officers seized anti-Ukrainian literature, which calls for inter-religious hatred, as well as firearms and ammo for it. The connection between the said cleric of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow subordination) and Russian paramilitary structures has also been established.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
