Donetsk region: SBU materials help to sentence one of the organizers of pseudo-referendum
SBU materials help to sentence one of the organizers of the 2014 pseudo-referendum in Donetsk region to six years of imprisonment.
The SBU operatives established that the head of Myronivskyi village of Bakhmut district in April-May 2014 voluntarily assisted to organize and conduct an illegal referendum. In particular, he convened an extraordinary session of the village council and agitated deputies to provide premises for the anti-constitutional event. Also he organized the polling stations operations and allocated responsibilities among other organizers of the fake event.
During the authorized investigative actions conducted in the criminals’ workplace, the law enforcers exposed documents, means of communication and other material evidence proving his illegal activity.
Artemivsk City District Court found the offender’s guilty in committing the crime stipulated by Part 2 Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to six years of imprisonment. The Court of Appeal of Donetsk left the decision of the court of first instance unchanged.
