SBU materials help to convict militant of “D/LNR” illegal armed formations
Based on the SBU materials, militant of the “D/LNR” terrorist organizations was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in Zaporizzhya region.
SBU operatives established that a resident of regional centre joined the illegal armed formations of pro-Russian terrorists in May, 2014. Being an infantryman of the so-called “11-th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 1-st Army Corps Vostok”, a man took an active part in hostilities against Ukrainian servicemen in the territory of Donetsk region. Since the autumn of 2015, the attacker joined the LNR, where he served in the "7-th separate motorized infantry brigade of the 2-nd Army Corps."
Being wounded, the militant came back home for rehabilitation and got a temporary job in a private security company of Zaporizzhya. Staying in the city, the attacker continued to maintain ties with representatives of the "L/DNR" terrorist organization and, according to operation information, planned to return to service for militants.
At the end of this April the law enforcers detained militant in his residence.
Zhovtnevyi district court of Zaporizzhya found him guilty of committing an offence under Art. Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The verdict came into force.
