SBU unveils militant of "LNR" terrorist organization in Luhansk region
The SBU officers detected ex-militant of the “LNR” terrorist organization in Luhansk region.
The SBU CI Department operatives established that a resident of the region in August 2015 joined illegal armed formations of the so-called “People’s Militia of LNR”. After receiving training in the training center of militants in Luhansk, he was sent to the positions of terrorists in the area of Bakhmutka. There the offender took part in the hostilities against the ATO forces.
According to the detainee, he realized the falsehood of his choice, seeing the extent of drug addiction among the militants, so in November 2015 the offender left the ranks of illegal armed formations.
Law enforcement officers detained ex-member of a gang group at a checkpoint in the Stanychno-Luhansk region during his attempt to enter the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities to obtain Ukrainian passport.
The SBU investigators served to detainee a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by Part 1 Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainee received custody as a measure of restraint.
Urgent investigative and operative actions are under way.
