Dnipro region: SBU counter-intelligence uncovers propagandist of “Russkiy mir” recruited by FSB
SBU counter-intelligence officers in Dnipro region uncovered a recruited FSB propagandist of “Russkiy mir” trespassing against territorial integrity of Ukraine.
SBU operatives established that a Ukrainian citizen, a representative of the public organisation “Russian Dnipropetrovsk community”, was preparing and publishing anti-Ukrainian propagandist materials in Internet, in order to support the self-proclaimed “LNR” and “DNR” terrorist organisations and the ideology of so-called “Novorosiia”. Also, the offender spread calls to establish the fake “Dnipropetrovsk People’s Republic”.
According to agitator’s words, he was recruited by FSB, for money, while staying in Moscow. Russian special services found the man via his friends who live in Russia. For monthly financial gain, the offender agreed to perform the tasks aimed at change of state border and to collect intelligence concerning social and political situation in the region.
Criminal was even rewarded with a medal to the centenary celebration of “VChK-KGB-FSB” (VChK, aka “All-Russian Extraordinary Commission’), given by FSB during his visit to Russia for reporting about performed tasks.
During the searches, SBU operatives seized criminal’s computer equipment and mobiles he used for conducting sabotage activities.
The criminal was served a notice of suspicion in committing a crime stipulated by Article 110 (“Trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, proving for five-years imprisonment.
Pre-trial investigation is under way.
