Reconstructed monument of Ukrainian soldiers who died in battle of liberation of Sloviansk unveiled
The ceremonial opening of the renewed memorial with the names of those who in 2014 became the first to protect the independence and territorial integrity of the country.
Among them there are three officers of special group ‘Alfa’, servicemen of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine – Hero of Ukraine colonel Oleksandr Anishchenko, Hero of Ukraine major Ruslan Luzhevskyi, Hero of Ukraine lieutenant colonel Taras Seniuk, holder of Order of Bohdan Kmelnytskyi 3rd Class captain Hennadii Bilichenko, holder Order For Courage of 3rd Class warrant officer Viktor Dolynskyi.
The renewed memorial established on May 23, 2015 in Semenivka village near Sloviansk was reconstructed by the efforts of the SBU officers and other security agencies, volunteers, businessmen and non-indifferent citizens.
The monument blessed by a military chaplain was unveiled by the relatives of the fallen servicemen. All present commemorated the protectors of Ukraine who fall during the military actions in Donbas by a minute of silence and salute.
The families of the heroes and their fellow soldiers also laid flowers to the memorial at the place of death of the SBU captain Hennadii Bilichenko. The memorial was unveiled this year.
