SBU Program “Waiting for You at Home” continues to bring former militants to peaceful life (video)
Three former participants of the illegal armed formations returned to peaceful life using the SBU Program “Waiting for You at Home”.
The law enforcers established that two residents of Sloviansk (Donetsk region), having succumbed to Russian propaganda in June 2014, joined the “DNR” terrorist organization. They were involved in “duty” on the illegal militant checkpoints. Their duties, in particular, included checking the documents, luggage and vehicles of the civilian population.
Being disappointed with the ideas of “Russkiy Mir”, both men voluntarily left the criminal group and appealed to the SBU, providing all the necessary assistance to the investigation.
A resident of Svatove (Luhansk region) also used the SBU Program “Waiting for You at Home”.
The SBU officers established that in 2014 the man joined the ranks of the militants of “LNR” terrorist organization, where he was engaged in access control arrangements of the so-called “military unit”. Because of constant drunkenness, fights and victimization of the terrorists, the man left the criminal group. Afraid of the criminal responsibility, he was hiding in Russia for a long time.
Being informed about the SBU Program, he voluntarily appealed to the SBU and provided the necessary evidence of his participation in the illegal armed formations.
After verification of the facts, the court released the former participants of the illegal armed formations from the criminal responsibility.
