The SBU Program “Waiting for You at Home” helped former “DNR” militants to return to peaceful life
The SBU Program “Waiting for You at Home” helped three former militants of “DNR” terrorist organization to return to peaceful life.
Law enforcers found that in 2014, three residents of Slovyansk joined the ranks of illegal armed groups, carrying out their “duty” on the illegal checkpoints near the city.
Then, because of non-payment of the promised rewards, the constant crimes against civilians by terrorists and the threat of physical harassment, men left the illegal group. For a while they hid in Slovyansk, fearing criminal liability for their illegal actions.
Being informed about the SBU program “Waiting for You at Home”, the former militants voluntarily applied to the SBU and informed about their actions.
After careful examination, the Security Service of Ukraine found that the residents of Donetsk region did not take direct part in hostilities and did not commit other serious and especially serious crimes. Respectively, the court released the former participants of the illegal armed formations from the criminal responsibility.
