SBU Head signs with scholars a Memorandum on cooperation in researching and celebration of historical events of state building of Ukraine (video)
SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak has signed with scholars a Memorandum on cooperation in researching and celebration of historical events of state building of Ukraine.
The main goal of the document is to join efforts with the aim of unprejudiced coverage of events, related to fight for the state independence of Ukraine in different periods of history, also researching of national special services role and meaning in rising of independence, state sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, protection of its national interests, affirmation of Ukraine in universal space, protection of rights, freedoms and values of its society and citizens.
“Initiation of study cycle on the history of Ukrainian security traditions today more than ever is logical and falling in the general system of the SBU renewal. Its reforming and transformation in powerful tool of national statehood guaranteeing”, - Vasyl Hrytsak stressed.
He added that discovery of unknown aspects of Ukrainian special services activities today is a forceful counterpropaganda to informational attacks of Kremlin, directing to denial of the status of Ukraine, as a country with deep historical roots.
“Keeping and multiplying the best historical security traditions, we always will have honourable national special service – the Security Service of Ukraine – able to give appropriate answer to threats and calls, facing before Ukrainian state”, - the SBU Head confirms.
The document also signed the Chairman of the Public council on the SBU renewal issues Yaroslav Antonyak, the director of open-air museum “Cossack lands of Ukraine” Volodymyr Nedyak, the head of the National association of writers Mykhailo Sydorzhevskyi, the founder of Ukrainian Helsinki Group, the human rights activist Vasyl Smoliy, the director of the Institute of literature Mykola Zhulynskyi. The director of the Institute of state and law Yuriy Shemshuchenko, the director of the Central state archive of supreme power bodies and management Natalya Makovska and the director of the Central state non-print archive of Ukraine Vladyslav Berkovskyi.
The Memorandum is open for joining of all scientists, experts, professors and students, public representatives, artists of Ukraine, sharing necessity of popularization of the history of national special services at different stages of fight for rising and consolidation of Ukrainian statehood.
Today also in the frameworks of the Memorandum implementation, the SBU State archive jointly with the Center of researches of liberation movement made public the leaflets, appeals and newspapers of the first month of Ukrainian revolution of 1917.
