SBU detains members of interregional drug-group
The officers of the SBU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions in cooperation with the Police and the Prosecutor's Office stopped the activity of the organized drug-group manufactured methamphetamine.
Law enforcers established that criminals created multiple network of drug dealing in the territory of Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Donetsk regions. Also they provided DNR terrorists with methamphetamine.
SBU operatives documented that the organizer of this drug-business, resident of Donetsk, in 2015 produced and sold methamphetamine to locals in the non-government controlled territories of Ukraine. The dealer escaped from DNR after the conflict with representatives of «MGB DNR» concerning the distribution of proceeds from sale of psychotropic substance and moved to Dnipropetrovsk region.
The SBU officers established criminal’s location in Dnipro, as well as location of his clandestine drug laboratory and identified all his accomplices.
According to the SBU, drug dealers transferred a part of the income to representatives of illegal armed terrorist groups, who covered their illegal business in the non-government controlled territories of Ukraine.
The offenders produced around 1 kg of methamphetamine monthly that brought up to UAH 3,000,000 (USD 111,000) of illegal profit.
The SBU operatives detained 3 members of the group in Dnipro while selling a regular consignment of drugs.
During the searches at the drug dealers’ residences, the law enforcers seized 150 g. of packed and prepared for sale psychotropic substance, equipment for its production, live rounds and RGD grenade.
The offenders were taken into custody. They were notified of suspicion under Part 3 Article 28, Part 3 Article 307, Part 2 Article 306, Part 2 Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is under way.
