Militant artillerist with Russian special training sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment
SBU investigation helped to convict “LNR” militant involved in shelling of Ukrainian military units to 8 years of imprisonment.
Counter-intelligence officers and investigators found that the resident of Dnipro joined to the illegal armed groups in May 2014. Under the guidance of Russian military instructors he completed combat and special drills in Belhorod militants’ training camp.
After the study, over the next five years he was participating in hostilities against Ukrainian military units at Zorynsk, Perevalsk, Sentyanivka, Bahmutka, Zholobok, Sokolnyky and Debaltsevo settlements.
Counter-intelligence officers jointly with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detained the militant in March 2019 in the Joint Forces Operation area.
The criminal provided the SBU with evidence about numerous facts of tortures, manslaughter, robberies, looting committed by militants of illegal armed groups.
Lysychansk city court of Luhansk region found the criminal guilty in participation in terrorist activity.
The verdict came into force.
