Sumy region: SBU conducts planned anti-terrorist drills
In Okhtyrka, Okhtyrskyi and Velykopysarivskyi Districts, the Regional Coordinating Group of SBU Anti-terrorist Center in Sumy Region conducted planned anti-terrorism and counter-subversion special tactical drills.
The regional units of the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service, Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of state authorities and local self-government participated in the drills.
During the training, the participants worked out an algorithm of actions to prevent possible sabotage and terrorist threats at a number of military and critical infrastructure facilities. They also improved skills in neutralizing and liquidating possible terrorists in forest regions.
The final stage of drills cumulated in detention of “terrorists” and the release of hostages at “Velyka Pysarivka” international checkpoint.
Systematic drills contribute to reaching the maximum level of interaction between the anti-terrorism bodies and thus must be a requirement, for a fitting response to a potential terrorist threat, said Vladyslav Kosinskyi, the head of the Regional Coordinating Group of the SBU Anti-terrorist Centre in Sumy Region.
