Mykolaiv region: SBU conducts regular anti-terrorist drills
The Coordination Group of Anti-terrorist Centre under the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region conducted regular tactical-special trainings, during which law enforcement officers performed the task on detection and neutralisation of notional subversive-terrorist group.
The units of the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard, the representatives of regional and local authorities participated in the near-real conditions drills.
The training aimed at increasing the level of inter-agency cooperation during the anti-terrorist operation at one of the critical infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv garrison.
According to the legend of the training, a foreign subversive group arrived at the regional centre to plant mines in a defence facility, in particular, fuel and oil stores and military equipment. However, the “subversives” were discovered by the guards. After the “combat encounters”, the notional terrorists seized hostages, demanding to secure them a flight to the temporarily uncontrolled territory of Ukraine.
After the futile negotiations, top command of the SBU Anti-terrorist Centre authorised the attack. As a result of joint actions of all the units involved, the “terrorists” were neutralised, “hostages” were released.
The Coordination Group thoroughly analysed each stage of the trainings, noting the high level of qualification and readiness of the participants to carry out the assigned tasks.
