SBU conducts counter-sabotage and anti-terrorist drills in Dnipro International Airport
The Coordination Group of Anti-terrorist Centre under the SBU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region conducted regular tactical-special trainings on detection and neutralisation of notional subversive-terrorist group.
The training aimed at increasing the level of inter-agency cooperation during the anti-terrorist operation at the strategically important critical infrastructure facility.
The units of the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard and the representatives of local authorities participated in the near-real conditions drills.
According to the training legend, the sabotage groups came to the region centre to mine International Airport facilities.
Law enforcement officers found the location of the “saboteurs” and successfully neutralised them.
During the second part of the training the terrorists captured a plane with hostages.
After unsuccessful negotiations, the SBU Anti-terrorist Centre Coordination Group sanctioned the involvement of an assault team, which neutralised the “terrorists” and released the hostages.
The Coordination Group thoroughly analysed each stage of the trainings, noting the high level of qualification and readiness of the participants to carry out the assigned tasks.
